We are working to make Bozeman Pass, on Interstate 90, a safer place for people and wildlife. This important wildlife corridor connects the Bridger and Bangtail mountain ranges with the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem. Elk, deer, bears, wolves and other species move through this area on a daily and seasonal basis.

Bozeman Pass from above.
In the last 8 years alone, vehicles killed more than 1,900 wild animals that were trying to cross the interstate on Bozeman Pass. Aside from the significant impact to wildlife, these accidents injured people and damaged vehicles. For a wildlife corridor to be functional, it is critical that animals are both willing and able to move successfully through it. Our goal is to ensure that wildlife can safely cross Bozeman Pass.
To learn about wildlife movement on Bozeman Pass, and make the linkage more wildlife-friendly, we launched our I-Spy on the Pass project in the fall of 2008. You can help by joining this community effort to document wildlife sightings in this area.
