The Cabinet-Purcell conservation area runs from the Canadian border to the Bitterroot Mountains. It includes the Cabinet Mountains wilderness and key wild areas in the Selkirk, Purcell, Salish, Whitefish, Flathead, Coeur d’Alene and Bitterroot Mountains. For this assessment, we interviewed 28 biologists in the Cabinet-Purcell area to identify critical habitat linkages, as well as threats and opportunities for conservation of these 43 wildlife linkage areas.
